Those numbers and letters that I put at the beginning of each Ship Log are the latitude and longitude coordinates of Great American III‘s location. Specifically, “44/26s” means 44° 26′ south latitude. This is read as “forty-four degrees, twenty-six minutes south latitude”. “118/41w” means 118° 41′ west longitude. This is read as “one hundred eighteen degrees, forty-one minutes west longitude”. Try plotting these coordinates on a map and see where I’ve been.
